In a landmark initiative to enhance the electoral process, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Delhi, in partnership with SNR Edatas Pvt. Ltd has introduced an AI-powered Queue Management System (QMS) during the 2025 Assembly elections. This innovative step aimed to optimize voter experience, reduce congestion at polling booths, and ensure smooth crowd management — a crucial challenge in a densely populated urban environment like Delhi. The system used mobile applications and SMS to inform voters of the best time slots to visit their polling booths, thereby minimizing peak-time congestion.

The QMS was successfully implemented in all locations during the elections. It was integrated with booth app, web dashboard, and CCTV network, creating a comprehensive, intelligent ecosystem for queue management. Key outcomes included:

Real-Time Queue Detection

Cameras placed outside polling stations count the number of people in line using AI-based object detection algorithms.

Wait Time Estimation

Based on current queue length and polling speed, the system provides wait time predictions.

Voter Convenience

Voters can enter their EPIC number or polling booth number to receive personalized updates on queue status, minimizing time spent at polling stations.
